Counterbalance Lift Truck

The counter balance course covers operators on trucks up to 5000kg lift capacity. Our course is relaxed and flowing, allowing information to be remembered easily. This is achieved using a variety of short safety films, books, demonstrations, but most importantly practice on a counterbalance lift truck.

Reach Truck

A powered pallet truck (also known as an electric pallet mover or straddle truck) is operated at ground level to move pallets and to load and offload pallets from a variety of vehicles. powered pallet trucks are commonly found in warehouses, they can walk behind, known as a pedestrian or ride-on types.

Pivot Steer (Bendi / Flexi etc.)
MEWP-mobile elevated work platform

MEWP is an overall name for powered access platforms which can refer to any type of Mobile Elevating Work Platform / Cherry Picker/scissor lift type machines. Fork Lift Course UK can train you on a variety of MEWP’S

Operator category 3A covers the safe use of Mobile Vertical machines generally called Scissor Lifts. The 3B Operator category covers the safe use of Mobile Boom machines which are self-propelled booms and may be articulated or telescopic booms and can be driven at height. The 1B Operator category covers Static Boom machines which are generally fitted with outriggers and cannot be driven while elevated this includes Van-mounted booms, Truck-mounted booms, Trailer-mounted booms or Spider booms on tracks or wheels. Whichever MEWP course you choose upon completion you will be working in the knowledge that all legal requirements have been met to operate the work platform.

Telescopic / Rough Terrain

Rough terrain telescopic trucks require great skill and concentration to operate. Fortunately, at First Lift Training, we are fully equipped to provide full telescopic forklift training in operating these great machines through our course. Sideloader

Designed for lifting and transporting of large lengths of timber/piping/steel. These trucks are used in various industries but are most popular in the timber industry, they have a large fixed carrying bed which helps to stabilise loads when transporting a great distance and can be used inside or out.

Multi Directional Reach

This truck is a combination of a side loader and fork lift truck. It has an integrated platform for carrying its material, It is highly manoeuvrable, very stable and efficient in the picking and transporting of materials. Designed to handle large lengths safely although not a popular truck it is a very useful materials handling truck.

We provide Multi-directional Reach Training and development to nationally recognised standards and a fully accredited level, careful to ensure all Health and Safety legislative requirements are met whilst providing aid to businesses and their work force whilst on site.

Pallet Stacker

The Pallet/Stacker Truck is quite a handy machine and is very popular in different guises, from basic, manually-propelled low-level transporting, to stand on electrically propelled stacking at high level. The basic stand-on transporter is used for transporting and locating loads around the warehouse where there is not enough space available for fork lift trucks.

 

The larger stacker version is generally used in stores where larger trucks cannot get. They are only designed for indoor use.

(Flexi) Pivot Steer

Training to use a Bendi forklift truck has a number of benefits. They tend to be a lot easier to operate and manoeuvre and are good when working in tight spaces. They’re also a very comfortable ride for the user. It’s a great machine as it can work between tight rows and reach the highest bays. The Bendi forklift has a “bend” in the middle between the forks and the body of the vehicle, it is also known as a pivot steer forklift or Flexi.

Narrow Aisle (VNA)

Designed to optimise every inch of ware house space. The VNA truck comes in man up or man down version, enabling full pallet handling in very narrow aisle. Working in tight racking areas is able to pick from low to very high levels.

Normally only steered by the operator when moving from one aisle to the next but once in the aisle is guided by track or wire system, all of our training is provided at a nationally-recognised and certified level and we ensure all statutory Health and Safety legislative requirements are adhered to on-site.
